Make a Splash This Summer at Vegas’ Hottest Pools and Dayclubs

Let’s face it, Las Vegas isn’t just known for its sizzling nightlife, summertime can also sizzle with season’s scorching temperatures. So how do you combat summer’s hotter-than-hot heat? Lucky for you, Las Vegas offers no shortage of expansive pools and sizzling pool parties to keep you cool. And because the roster can be intimidating, we’ve narrowed it down to our favorite spots.

Bring your posse to the best resort pools across the valley. If you’re looking for a locals’ scene, our pick is Downtown Grand’s Citrus Grand Pool Deck, downtown Las Vegas’ biggest rooftop pool party. Spanning 35,000 square feet, Citrus features live entertainment, a picturesque infinity pool, restaurant and full bar offering a seasonal menu created by Chef Scott Commings, Hell’s Kitchen season 12 champion, cabanas, daybeds and backyard games such as corn hole, foosball and table tennis. Our top picks off the menu include the watermelon, jicama and feta salad, lobster and shrimp rolls and pineapple soft serve, which all pair nicely with a Poolama or Mango Mai Tai cocktail. For private table or cabana reservations and other inquiries, call 702-280-0532.

Be where the hip crowd goes and check out The Tank at Golden Nugget, which boasts a $30 million award-winning pool. The highlight of this aquatic destination is its 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium. And if you’re a closet would-be marine biologist, we recommend doing the behind-the-scenes shark tank tour by calling 702-386-8339. For sun and shade, explore The Tank’s cabana and daybed rentals. Looking for an adults-only poolside experience? Check out the third-story infinity pool known as The Hideout. And if you’re looking to sip on some uniquely curated refreshing libations paired with light fare, visit the H20 Bar.

Venture to The Strip for The Beach at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, featuring a massive 11 acres, wave pool, quarter-mile lazy river, dozens of private cabanas and multiple F&B options including the Beach Bar & Grill and Bikini Bar. Cabanas are fully stocked with comfortable outdoor furniture, LCD TVs, personal safe, ceiling fans and refrigerators. Neighboring The Beach is Moorea Beach Club, Mandalay Bay’s private adults-only, upscale experience and DAYLIGHT Beach Club, offering a star-studded DJ and artist lineup and food and cocktail service. Call 702-632-4700 for cabana or daybed reservations and inquiries.

Las Vegas pretty much conceived the day club concept and since its inception, no other city can come close to matching Sin City’s offerings. If you’re up to braving the day club debauchery scene, check out KAOS at Palms Casino Resort. This pool party features famous turntable residencies such as Skrillex and Marshmello. For those who aren’t obliged to return to work Monday, experience SOAK Sundays, a late-night pool party. For more information and reservations, click here.

MGM Grand is home to another popular day club and the longest-running pool party in the valley, Wet Republic. Electronic music headliners include Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki and Tiesto. Aside from the high-profile DJ lineup, Wet Republic boasts over 6,000 square feet of saltwater pool areas, six VIP private dipping pools, a 2,500 square foot open-air lounge and more. For tickets, guest list, VIP reservations and more information, click here.

And a couple pieces of advice from the wise on successfully navigating the day club / Las Vegas pool scene:  don’t forget proper proof of ID; travel light and be cautious with your belongings (each pool entry is guarded by security search teams and personnel who aren’t shy; arrive early because the lines are undoubtedly long; bring sunscreen and sun gear and lastly but not least, drink responsibly. The last thing you want to remember (or not remember) is getting kicked out of a venue because you had one too many margaritas.

Hope you enjoyed our splash-tacular roundup and keep cool this summer season!
