Join the Earth Day Recycled 5K Run & 1-Mile Walk

Get some exercise and make a positive impact on the environment at the Earth Day Recycled 5K Run & 1-Mile Walk 2023. Celebrate Earth Day by taking a run or walk down the Harry Reid Union Pacific Railroad Trail. After the run, join in a cleanup along the trail from 10 a.m. until noon. Bibs, t-shirts, and medals will be recycled from previous 5Ks.

Go for a run with Earth Day Everyday Run Las Vegas

Enjoy the beautiful spring weather and celebrate Earth Day by participating in the Earth Day Everyday Run LAS VEGAS. This is a relatively small event so registration fills up quickly.

Visit the farmer’s market

Shop locally grown produce at the Downtown 3rd Farmers Market located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, featuring fresh produce from local farmers. The hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-2pm.

Go for a hike

Less than 15 minutes from downtown Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon has mountains, trees, wildlife, and 26 nature trails to explore. Or head to Mt. Charleston Spring Mountain National Recreation Area where you’ll find for over 60 miles of trails starting at over 6000 feet in elevation and culminating at the 11,916-foot Charleston Peak.

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada has a Bike Share program featuring a mix of 200 classic and electric bikes available 24/7, 365 days a year in downtown Las Vegas. Simply check-out a bike, explore the city, and return the bike to one of RTC’s Bike Share docking stations. While you’re checking out the RTC’s bike program, also take a moment to learn more about how the RTC is reducing carbon emissions by transitioning to a fleet of electric buses.
